Cystic fibrosis symptoms

Lately I was told by a friend about her son’s illness, in medical terms the disease is called Cystic Fibrosis. The name sounds strange to me that still common. What exactly is meant by the Cystic Fibrosis? I then tried to ask it to a doctor, it turns out to be a disease associated with respiratory tract and some organs in the body.

Based on information from this doctor too, I know if the disease is one of the hereditary disease that comes from the genes inherited from one parent, but the good news is, this disease is not contagious. For long-term illness will cause a delayed puberty, disturbances in intestines function, can cause cirrhosis (liver disorders), inflammation of the pancreas and infertility disturbances in men, even though this disease is extremely rare, this disease commonly attacks children.

As this disease strikes, patients usually experience a lot of mucus in the lungs and intestines. Special for the lungs, the patient will often suffers respiratory infections, shortness of breath due to the blocked airways by excessive mucus and eventually cause permanent damage to the lungs. Disruption of lung function can cause the patient died, and this becomes a major issue in developing countries such as the United States.
To cure this disease, a serious treatment is needed from a doctor because if it happens repeatedly, the lungs will have permanent scars

Some of the cystic fibrosis symptoms are:
- Enlargement on the toes and fingers
- Chronic cough accompanied by blood
- Respiratory disorders starting from asthma to bronchitis, sinusitis, nasal polyps
- High levels of salt in the sweat glands
- Physical fatigue
- Pain in the abdomen
- Excessive amount of sputum

If you experience the above symptoms, call your doctor immediately for furhter treatment
